MJF has risen from the independent circuit to one of the hottest commodities in pro wrestling. It was even reported that WWE is already interested in signing him, even though his AEW contract isn’t up until 2024. It’s a great time to be MJF.
Friedman took to Twitter and addressed those reports. Responding to a fan account that shared a report of the news, MJF made a simple and brief statement. He expects 2024 to be a war for the right to sign him.
“The bidding war of 2024.”
Maxwell is well aware that he’s wanted. He’s one of the most hated heels in wrestling today. MJF did get a heroes’ welcome at his hometown show on Long Island, however.
MJF has been with AEW since the beginning. He wrestled on All In, the independent show that was the genesis of the promotion. He is likely to become AEW World Champion between now and 2024.
It speaks to the star power of MJF that fans and promoters are already discussing where he’ll be over two years from now. WWE is definitely interested. So are their network partners, Fox and USA. Only time will tell where MJF ends up once his AEW deal expires. It was previous reported that WWE is unlikely to pay big money to sign him, but that report may have been premature.
