Brock Lesnar was not seen on WWE television after dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. That changed at WWE SummerSlam, where he made his shocking return to WWE television and confronted Roman Reigns. Brock officially came back as a babyface, much to the delight of fans.
Brock Lesnar squared off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Crown. He would be defeated by Reigns after interference from The Usos. Naturally, he was very irate at this turn of events.
Lesnar then destroyed Roman Reigns on a previous episode of WWE Smackdown. Due to this, he was indefinitely suspended. He then put his hands on Adam Pearce as he hit him with two F5s. Because of his actions, Brock Lesnar was fined $1 million by WWE.
However, Brock Lesnar’s suspension was then lifted and then he returned to the blue brand. On the past two week’s episodes of Friday Night Smackdown, Brock Lesnar has been showing a more chill and expressive side of himself as a babyface, especially seen with his interactions with Sammy Zayn.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry gave huge props to Brock Lesnar as a babyface and said that he is all in for The Beast’s current character in WWE.
“Just him looking at the hard camera and smiling, it does something to my soul. I think that this is gonna be the best thing that could’ve ever happened to Brock because Brock has got a good personality, y’all.
He’s very entertaining. His timing is very good and now we get to see that because he’s not stone-faced. He’s not angry Brock all the time. Now, you noticed when Paul Heyman started saying, ‘Reigning, defending,’ Brock’s face turned red. His expression changed.
Brock can turn it on and turn it off and that’s the specialness of who he is but I just wanted to point that out that this is a Brock that we’ve only seen one time and that was quite a while ago and now we get that Brock every week. It’s awesome.”
We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ feud as we near the Day 1 pay-per-view next year.
