John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. Since 2017, John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood. It seems Austin Theory has an interesting goal in mind concerning John Cena.
For the past couple of weeks, Austin Theory has been engaged in a storyline with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. It also featured him getting slapped by Vince McMahon.
Theory has had a solid run on the main roster so far, as he defeated Jeff Hardy, faced Big E for the WWE Championship and is now involved in a storyline with Vince McMahon.
While speaking with Alternative Sport, Austin Theory was asked if he’d rather team up with John Cena at WrestleMania and win the tag team championships or retire him. Theory made it clear he wants to retire John Cena.
“Gosh, that’s a tough one, man, they both sound amazing. But I think, I think for Austin Theory. Yeah, you’d have to really not “see” Cena anymore because I’d have to retire him. I’d have to do it, man.”
With Austin Theory blindsiding Finn Balor on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, perhaps it might lead to a match between the two at WWE Day One on January 1st, 2022. We will have to wait and see if WWE will go through with that plan or not.
