Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano have been in the news quite a bit as their WWE contracts both came to an end. Gargano recently announced his free agency by re-opening his Pro Wrestling Tees store. Many within WWE believed one or both men would stay.
According to Mike Johnson of PW Insider, both men are now officially free agents. WWE has removed both wrestlers from their internal roster. They are now free to wrestle where they please.
Gargano and O’Reilly are both expecting babies in the early part of 2022. They may take some time off. Time will tell where they show up, but for now, they are no longer in WWE.
Johnny Gargano enjoyed a phenomenal run in NXT. He was considered by fans to be the heart and soul of the brand. He was also the first ever triple crown winner in NXT, capturing the NXT, North American, and Tag Team Championships.
Kyle O’Reilly was a key member of The Undisputed Era faction in NXT. Led by Adam Cole, the group dominated the brand for almost four years. Cole and Bobby Fish have since moved on to All Elite Wrestling. The only Undisputed Era member remaining with the brand at this point is Roderick Strong.
The free agency of Kyle O’Reilly comes at a very interesting time. Along with Bobby Fish, Kyle was a three-time Ring of Honor tag champion. He’s also a former ROH World Champion. One can’t help but wonder if O’Reilly will make an appearance at this weekend’s ROH Final Battle PPV.
