Pete Dunne is one of the few veteran wrestlers who made a name outside of WWE remaining with the NXT brand. Adam Cole left for All Elite Wrestling over the Summer. Johnny Gargano is gone. Bobby Fish is All Elite. Kyle O’Reilly looks like he could be on his way out the door.

Since WWE re-branded their developmental territory as NXT 2.0, it seems like most of the more experienced wrestlers are looking for greener pastures. Dunne recently talked to Corey Graves on “After the Bell” about his thoughts on the changes. He says despite the dramatic differences, it’s business as usual for the Bruiserweight.

“It’s a completely different scene and it continues to change.  To me, it’s just business as usual.  I’m still me.  I’m exactly the same.  I want to be as competitive as I can.  I want to have the best matches I can.

It’s just a different crew of people to work with.  I’m still doing me, the same style of match, the same sort of thing but with a new cast of characters.  I’m looking forward to different opportunities to work with different guys, and also show them what NXT is about.  I think for these guys now, it’s about keeping that same standard that we at NXT are known for.”

Dunne said one of his big goals is to win an NXT Championship. He believes he can elevate the title. Pete thinks he deserves it.

“I guess the big one is the NXT Title.  I feel like I deserve a run with that and I can do great things with that.  It’s something that I’ve been right there so many times.  That’s something I would love to accomplish in my career.”

Pete Dunne signed a new multi-year deal with WWE in mid-September. He’s a former NXT Tag Team and UK Champion. Now he is setting his sights on the brand’s top title.
