Jay Lethal is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling after competing for over twenty years now. He established himself as one of the stars of the X-Division in TNA and then became one of the top talents in ROH as well. It seems Jay Lethal was worried about his AEW debut.

With Ring of Honor releasing all of their talents in order to undergo a complete overhaul, Jay Lethal became a free agent. Lethal then shocked the world as he made his debut at AEW Full Gear.

Jim Cornett even previously stated that Tony Khan finally did something right by signing Jay Lethal to AEW. He even blasted WWE for letting AEW sign Jay Lethal in the first place.

While speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Jay Lethal talked about his AEW debut. The former TNA and ROH star admitted that he was worried fans wouldn’t care about him debuting in AEW.

“I was kinda worried. And I remember everyone was like, ‘you’ve done this a bunch of times, why are you worried?’ I was seriously nervous. I was like, ‘Well, it’s pay-per-view and this is like my debut….’ I was like, if I am lucky, when I go out there, I will be greeted with the golf clap.

When I went out there and people actually went crazy for it, when I got back in the locker room, my eyes were watery because that moment meant a lot to me.”

Ric Flair also previously said that Jay Lethal will never get his due in pro wrestling. It remains to be seen how Jay Lethal will be booked in AEW in the coming months.
