WWE released Bronson Reed from his NXT contract back in August as the company believed Reed simply didn’t fit the new vision of the brand. WWE also had plans for Bronson Reed on the main roster prior to his release. It seems Reed doesn’t think he’d fit in NXT 2.0

Bronson Reed also previously revealed that WWE told him to smile more. He even previously called out Miro after his WWE release, making his intentions clear.

While speaking with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Reed, who now goes by the name JONAH, talked about his time in WWE. JONAH admitted that he wouldn’t have fit in NXT 2.0

“I honestly don’t think I could have done anything differently, you know. I was very close with Hunter and Shawn in NXT and they were very happy with everything I had done. I am one of those people who is constantly checking in. If you need me to change something I can change it. They were big fans of Bronson Reed. The same was said about my meeting with Vince and Bruce Pritchard and John Laurinaitis who were there as well. If they had said ‘we need you to do this, or change characters, or do this,’ I’ve been in the wrestling business long enough to be able to do that. But there was no opportunity for that.”

JONAH made his debut in NJPW last month and since then has been having a great time wrestling everywhere he wants to. He was also announced as the first entrant in PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament, which will be held on January 29 and 30 next year.
