Austin Gunn will be taking a little time away from All Elite Wrestling. The 27-year-old son of Billy Gunn has been cast in a new reality show. The series, which will air on the E! network, focuses on the children of celebrities working on a ranch.
There will be eight contestants. They will spend 30 days on the ranch. The series debuts on January 12, 2022. “Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules” will compete directly with AEW Dynamite, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“Austin Gunn… will be gone soon as he was cast in a reality show called “Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules.” The show will air on E! and is built around eight children of celebrities, and I guess Billy Gunn is a celebrity…
The show debuts on 1/12 in a Wednesday at 9 p.m. time slot, head-t0-head with Dynamite. The show will feature the daughter of Pat Benatar, the daughter of David Hasselhoff, the daughter of Martin Lawrence, the son of Shaquille O’Neal, the son of Ray Parker Jr., the son of Billy Bob Thornton, and the daughter of Eazy E.”
Austin Gunn signed with AEW in January of 2020. He was recently called out by fans for some old tweets where he used racial slurs. Gunn gave a very direct apology for the indiscretion.
He made his AEW Dynamite debut in early November. He’s been in a stable with his brother, Colten Gunn, and his father. He most recently acted as the third to Colten and Billy Gunn in their match with Sting and Darby Allin on the December 1 Dynamite.
