Cedric Alexander has given a major shout out to Jeff Hardy. After news broke that WWE released Hardy, Alexander took to Twitter to share his thoughts on how Jeff influenced him. He is one of many professional wrestlers to credit their love of the sport to Hardy.
Cedric said Jeff’s work as one half of the legendary Hardy Boyz with his brother, Matt Hardy, planted the seed for his love of pro wrestling. The two have shared a ring many times. Cedric Alexander took the occasion to thank Jeff Hardy for the inspiration.
“Jeff Hardy along with Matt as the Hardy Boyz, helped mold my love for professional wrestling. I was able to share a ring with Jeff on multiple occasions and enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you for just being Jeff Hardy”
Cedric Alexander and Jeff Hardy faced off over the past year on WWE Raw. The influence Hardy had over Cedric’s style is apparent to anyone who watches him work in the squared circle. Now that Hardy is gone from the company, Cedric wants him to know he’s appreciated.
Jeff Hardy was released by WWE following a bizarre series of events. At a house show match in Texas, Hardy abandoned his teammates in the middle of a match to pose for photos with fans. He was sent home from the tour and subsequently released after being replaced by Rey Mysterio the following night.
Cedric Alexander made his WWE debut after a long sting with Ring of Honor in 2016. He competed in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, losing to Kota Ibushi in the second round. His spouse, Big Swole, also recently sent her best wishes along to Jeff Hardy.
