Monday Night RAW commentator Corey Graves has a lot of love for the pro wrestling world and that includes the fans. He is also known to post concerning tweets at times that gets fans talking. It seems Graves recently put a fan on blast who accused him of being sexist.
As fans are well aware by now, Corey Graves is very opinionated and is never afraid to speak his mind. Graves was previously criticized for constantly throwing shade at Dana Brooke earlier this year.
Former NXT talent Alyssa Marino took to Twitter and seemingly called out Corey Graves for focusing on how a female competitor looks in a match as opposed to what happens in the match itself.
”When an announce team can’t “focus” on a match and is constantly commenting on the physical appearance of competitors (especially when it’s women in the ring), it’s time to find professional broadcasters who can tell the story without being “distracted” by the athletes.”
I don’t often share my takes on things, but I work hard to prepare myself as a broadcaster. I’ve studied how great commentary teams can elevate matches, but it’s really grating to hear announcers get lost in how attractive they think competitors are in the midst of a match.”
Corey Graves decided to respond to the former NXT talents tweet and on top of that, he also put his other critics on blast for alleging that he is sexist.
”Well then, I suggest you find a different field than sports entertainment. If you can’t differentiate between a TV character and an ACTUAL journalist, then I don’t trust anything you have to say. Good luck.
Responding to criticism about how I speak ON TV about a CHARACTER portrayed by my ACTUAL fiancé trumps any of your “woke” bullshit…but you do you…You’re welcome for the virtue signal boost.”
In the end, Corey Graves is entitled to his opinion and is simply doing his job as part of the commentary team on Monday Night RAW and fans will simply have to accept that.
