It’s the festive season and WWE is bringing us a special gift in the form of WarGames! And Ringside News has you covered with live play-by-play results coverage. Start time for WarGames is at 7:30 PM EST for the Kick-Off Show. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.
As always, the show will feature two WarGames matches. The main event will see Team 2.0 face Team Black & Gold to see if the youth can overcome the veterans of the brand. And while it isn’t being branded as such, the women’s match is quite similar with Toxic Attraction facing Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai, Cora Jade, and Kay Lee Ray.
The WarGames are the focal point of tonight’s show but they aren’t the only matches. Cameron Grimes will face Duke Hudson in a hair-vs-hair match, Imperium will defend the Tag Team Titles against Kyle O’Reilly and Von Wagner, and Roderick Strong battles Joe Gacy with the Cruiserweight Championship on the line.

Sam Roberts and McKenzie Mitchell are on the stage to welcome us to NXT WarGames, then run down all the matches for tonight’s show.
We see a video package for the men’s WarGames match. Mitchell says it’s hard to argue against the Black and Gold Team but Sam Roberts reckons the new boys are young and hungry enough. A video plays from last Tuesday where the veterans talked after Gargano lost the ladder match against Bron Breakker; LA Knight talks-up his teammates and their accolades, saying they’ve all paid their dues and on Sunday the four of them will stomp respect into the new blood.
Team 2.0 are backstage and Andre Chase appears, telling them they need to talk strategy and have a game plan. He says they need him on the outside of the cage. Breakker appears behind him and says he’s not the one calling the shots around here. They tell him to get out and fist bump each other. Back to Mitchell and Roberts and they’re split on who they think will win tonight.
Mitchell and Roberts discuss the Hair-Vs-Hair Match and they’re standing in the ring with a barbershop chair, then move on to talk about Joe Gacy Vs. Roderick Strong. Roberts says Gacy has been getting treated unfairly, he’s only trying to make NXT a less toxic and problematic place. They cut to the hosts of The Bump, who make their predictions for tonight’s show.
This year’s WarGames opens with Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph, and Beth Phoenix at ringside and Beth says she will always love NXT – this will be her final show as announcer. And now it’s time!
Dakota Kai and Kay Lee Ray start the match and Kai brings kendo sticks in to rival Ray with her baseball bat. They toss the weapons away and start exchanging. Dakota gets the better of Ray at the beginning but gets caught with a tornado DDT. Ray lifts Kai but gets sent into the cage wall, then another time for good measure. Kai lifts the kendo sticks and sets them across the bottom ropes between the rings.
Kai whips Ray into the corner and grabs her baseball bat. Ray comes over the ropes from one ring to the other with a cannonball to Kai. Ray hits Kai with a kendo stick, then both women go between the rings and Ray suplexes Kai onto the propped-up kendo sticks. Cora Jade is the first woman released and she brings her skateboard into the ring. Jade hits Kai with the skateboard a couple times, then an enziguiri. Jade hits a shining wizard, then she and Ray take turns in kicking Kai in the back.
They hit Kai with a double suplex, then attempt it again but she counters with a double DDT. Gigi Dolin is out next and she brings a trash can and a black bag into the ring. Dolin throws the trash can into Jade’s face, then teams with Kai to beat Ray. Dolan and Kai back them into the corners and hit stereo running kicks. Jade and Ray start firing back and Jade puts the trash can over Dolin’s head and dropkicks her. With the trash can over Gigi, Ray slams Dakota onto the trash can.
Io Shirai is released next and she brings a plethora of chairs into the ring but she gets beaten down and tossed into the cage quite quickly. All five women trade shots back and forth and the fans chant for Jade to use her skateboard but Dakota knocks it away from her. Ray slams Gigi and Jade goes to the top rope but Kai grabs her. Jade leaps onto Kai and huts a hurricanrana on the steel between the rings. Gigi then slams Jade into the cage and the timer returns.
Jacy Jayne is out next and she brings a table into the ring and Dolin sets it up. Jacy tosses the trash can at Ray, then dropkicks her backwards onto some chairs. Dolin hits Jade with a Frankensteiner, then gets Shirai in a camel clutch. Jayne looks to kick Shirai but she accidentally hits Dolin. Shirai hits double knees to Kai, Dolin and Jayne in the corners, using the trash can lid as a weapon. Shirai hits Jayne with a 619 and she rolls into the other ring where Jade and Ray are waiting with a table.
Jade climbs to the top of the cage and dives off with a weird Swanton Bomb and puts Jayne through the table. Jade may be injured after a terrible landing. Officials comes down to ringside and look to get in but Shirai closes the door on them, then proceeds to “pop” Jade’s arm back into the socket. Raquel Gonzalez is out next and puts lots of trash cans in the ring but Kai closes the door and Gigi helps her keep it closed. Gonzalez grabs a fire extingusiher and sprays them to get the door open.
Gonzalez runs roughshod over everyone and puts Dakota inside a trash can and swings her around and throws her. All of them women start scaling the cage but Raquel drags Jayne down and hits a spinebuster, then puts Kai inside a trash can and Shirai hits a moonsault. Raquel goes to check on Cora Jade, who’s sitting down in the other ring holding her shoulder. Mandy Rose emerges from the cage and the WarGames match is officially underway.
Mandy gets in and hits Gonzalez with a chair, then goes to other ring and drags Cora around by her injured shoulder! Shirai attacks her and she retreats to the other ring where both teams stand side-by-side and taunt each other. They all start brawling and hitting each other with weapons. Mandy Rose beats Raquel with a kendo, then Gigi hits a hurricanrana into a steel chair. They pin but Cora returns with a kendo and breaks it up. Jade retreats to the other ring but they surround her.
She hits them with her kendo but the numbers get the better of her. Mandy htis a running knee and covers but Jade kicks out! All six women come together in the same ring and Raquel hits the Chingona bomb to Jayne, then her and Gigi take each other out with pump kicks. All six women are down but Cora crawls over and pins Jayne to win the match!
We get a video package for Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, then one for Boa as well. We see the whole MSK journey to meet their shaman. We meet him on Tuesday night.
Team Black & Gold are backstage and debating their merits for starting the match. Ciampa gives Gargano the go ahead to be the guy.
Marcel Barthel starts against O’Reilly and takes him down with a wristlock. Aichner tags in and hits an arm-drag. Aichner backs Kyle into the corner and chops him hard. O’Reilly kicks him in the chest and tags Wagner, who hits a back suplex for a two-count. Wagner lands a diving headbutt and tags O’Reilly and he grabs a front facelock. Aichner creates some separation and tags Barthel.
Barthel hits a snapmare and a running kick, then poses. Wagner and Aichner tag in and Fabian catches him on his shoulders and squats before slamming him. O’Reilly comes back in and batters Barthel with knees, then kicks Aichner onto the steel apron. O’Reilly lands some a flurry of strikes but Aichner kicks him in the back and Barthel capitalizes with a clothesline. Imperium isolate O’Reilly in the corner but he fires back with some kicks.
Wagner gets the tag and lands some knees, then a gutwrench slam to Barthel and clotheslines both over the ropes to the floor. Wagner goes out and clotheslines both men on the floor, then back suplexes Barthel on the apron. O’Reilly comes flying off the apron with a knee to Aichner. Wagner gets Barthel back inside and hits an Angle slam for a near-fall. Imperium double dropkick Wagner, then want the Euro Bomb but he fights them off and tags Kyle.
O’Reilly hits a flying knee off the top and grabs a heel hook. Barthel grabs the bottom rope and Aichner springboard moonsaults O’Reilly. Imperium look for a double-team but O’Reilly grabs a guillotine on Aichner as Barthel is sent to the floor. Aichner escapes and both men connect with pump kicks, then double clotheslines and both go down. Wagner and Barthel get the tags and exchange blows.
All four men start exchanging and Wagner and O’Reilly hit a high-and-low but the referee is distracted by Aichner. Barthel sends Wagner outside and Barthel hits a huge springboard tope to him. Barthel slides back in and wants a powerbomb but O’Reilly hits him with a brainbuster for a near-fall. O’Reilly goes to an armbar and has to transition to a triangle choke. Aichner is almost out but springs to life and lifts O’Reilly up so Barthel can hit the Euro Bomb and score the pinfall!
After the match Imperium leave and Wagner tries to attack O’Reilly but he dodges him and beats him down.
Legado Del Fantasma are backstage and Santos says this Tuesday, reality will hit Xyon Quinn. They’re asked about Elektra Lopez meeting Quinn last week and Elektra says she is a grown-ass woman and what she does in her time is no-ones business.
The match gets underway and Hudson tackles Grimes into the corner and clubs him. Grimes turns it around and kicks Hudson a few times. Hudson throws Grimes into the corner and he flies over the ropes to the floor. Grimes slams Duke into the steel steps, then hits a cannonball from the apron. They get back inside and Hudson catches Grimes with a urinage. Hudson beats Grimes around but gets caught with a crossbody.
Grimes kicks Hudson in the chest a few times and he bails to the outside. Grimes goes to the apron and jumps at Hudson but gets caught with an overhead belly-to-belly. Hudson tries to earn a count-out victory but Cameron gets back in at eight. Duke hits a back elbow and lifts Grimes for a suplex but Cameron rolls him up for a two-count. Duke drills Grimes with some knees to the back but Cameron fights up and hits a tilt-a-whirl into the ropes.
Grimes rallies and hits a spinning crossbody for a near-fall. Grimes lands some forearms and reverses a powerslam with a DDT. Hudson rolls out and Grimes kicks him from the apron. Grimes gets Hudson back inside and looks for a sunset flip but Hudson sits down for a pin and grabs the ropes… but the referee catches it! Grimes lands some kicks and a poisonrana, then goes up top for a crossbody and a near-fall. Grimes runs for the Cave-In but gets caught with the Boss Man Slam. Hudson hits a Frankensteiner into the buckles, then rolls Duke up for the win!
Hudson tries to run away but Grimes sends him back into the ring with the barber chair. Hudson clotheslines Grimes and puts him in the barber chair. Hudson grabs the shaver but Grimes catches him with the Cave-In. Grimes grabs the razor and shaves Hudson’s head! Hudson pulls away and leaves with his head half shaved.
The match begins and Gacy is reluctant to attack Strong but winds-up slapping him in the face. Strong punches him and lands a backbreaker. Strong shoots Gacy to the ropes but gets shouldered down, then caught with a clothesline to the back. Gacy lands some right hands but Strong rips his shirt and chops his chest. Gacy beats Strong back but gets caught with a knee in the corner. Strong lifts him onto the top rope and chops him, then climbs up and hits a superplex for a near-fall.
Gacy eats some stomps but takse Strong down with a crossface. Strong crawls backwards and gets his feet on the ropes. Gacy clotheslines Strong over the ropes, then dives over the ropes onto Diamond Mine. Ivy Nile stands in front of Gacy so Harland lifts her up but Gacy makes him set her back down. Gacy gets back inside and powerbombs Strong for a near-fall. Strong connects with a knee and hits a backbreaker for the win.
We see a video of Ikemen Jiro ordering food and he says he has a huge appetite. He eats three gallons of ice creams, two giant pizza slices, and more, then winds-up on the toilet making a lot of noise.
Kyle O’Reilly is interviewed backstage and he says he smelt Von Wagner’s turn coming from a mile away. He says this is the first time in five years he hasn’t been in the WarGames match and he’s hungry for some steel. He challenges Von Wagner to a cage match on Tuesday.
Gargano starts against Carmelo Hayes and Johnny grabs a side headlock. Gargano stays on the front foot and hits a tornado DDT off the cage. Hayes rolls to the other ring and Gargano gives chase. Hayes knocks Johnny back and climbs the ropes but Gargano climbs up alongside him and they fight atop the ropes. Gargano slams Hayes’s head into the cage a few times, then hits a sunset flip powerbomb.
The timer counts down and Grayson Waller joins the match. Waller tells Gargano to bring the fight to him in the other ring, so Johnny jumps over the ropes and starts punching him. Waller counters a tilt-a-whirl DDT with a suplex and taunts the fans. Gargano goes for the tilt-a-whirl again but gets caught with a backbreaker. Gargano starts fighting back but Hayes returns and the numbers get the better of him.
Gargano sends Hayes into Waller, then hits a neckbreaker to Waller. Trick Williams throws a chair into the ring and almost impales Waller. Trick starts scaling the cage but Gargano grabs the chair and knocks him off. Waller and knocks Gargano down and bust his nose, then Pete Dunne joins the match. Dunne takes both men down with knees and clotheslines, then drops a knee on Waller’s elbow and suplexes Hayes onto him.
Gargano and Dunne grab submissions on Hayes and Waller and hold on because they can’t tap out. Waller leaps over the ropes and catches Dunne with a cutter, then does the same to Gargano and all four men are down. Tony D’Angelo is out next and Trick Williams gives him some kendo sticks, then some tables as well. Trick sends more and more weapons in but eventually he goes under the apron and Dexter Lumis comes crawling out and scares him!
Tony D’Angelo locks the door and they beat Gargano and co. with chains and trash cans. LA Knight is released next and runs down but D’Angelo has padlocked the door and he can’t get it open. Knight starts scaling the cage and Waller tries to stop him but he fights him off. Knight ducks and dodges Waller and Tony before sending one into the cage and hitting the other with a leaping knee. Knight hits Hayes with a neckbreaker, drops Tony, then powerslams Waller onto him.
The fans are chanting for LA Knight as he hits Tony with the kendo stick, then puts a trash can over Waller and hits him with a kendo stick. Gargano and Dunne return to help Knight maul the new school. Bron Breakker comes out next and he breaks the chain on the cage door, then runs over the Black & Gold brand. Gargano attacks his leg but Breakker knocks him down as well. The 2.0 boys stay in control until Tommaso Ciampa emerges from his cage and evens the odds.
Ciampa beats Hayes, Waller, Breaker and D’Angelo with trash cans and kendo sticks, then sits on the trash can and applauds himself. Ciampa gets knocked down but Gargano returns to help out and hands him his iconic crutch, with Ciampa uses to beat Waller and Hayes. D.I.Y form a reunion to hit Hayes and Breakker with a flurry of tag team offense, until Breakker drops Ciampa and slams Gargnao into him.
In the other cage, Team 2.0 are in control of LA Knight and Pete Dunne, while Hayes and Breakker continue to beat Gargano and Ciampa. Black & Gold all wind-up on the steel apron and look at each other before standing up. They’re surrounded but they brawl with the new school and everyone ends-up in the same ring. The new school all get send over the ropes onto the apron and the old school hit them with running kicks and stomp them down.
A trash can is wedged between the ropes and Carmelo Hayes is lawn-darted into it by Gargano. In the other ring a table is set up, then Knight hits a super belly-to-belly to Waller through the table! We get a big tower of doom spot in the corner, then Knight hits Hayes with the BLT but D’Angelo breaks the pin. Breaker gets on the top rope but Ciampa throws a trash can at him, then climbs up and hits an air raid crash onto a trash can for a near-fall!
Tony beats Knight down and erects a table. Knight is put on the table and Waller climbs the cage to the very top. Waller hits a huge elbow drop offf the top through the table and covers but Dunne drags him off. D’Angelo pulls a crowbar out from a hole in the apron but Dunne hits him with a kendo stick. Dunne batters Hayes with a kendo stick in the apron, then stomps his hand. Dunne goes to the top rope but D’Angelo hits him with the crowbar! Tony chokes Dunne with the crowbar and takes his gumshield out! D’Angelo htis Dunne with a swinging neckbreaker off the top.
In the other ring, Ciampa and Breakker are slugging it out and hitting clotheslines to each other. Breakker catches Ciampa with a Frankensteiner but Gargano superkicks him. Breakker lifts Gargano up but Ciampa saves him. Gargano hits the float-over DDT while CIampa hits Willow’s Bell. D.I.Y hit Meet In The Middle and both cover but Hayes drags the referee away. Gargano grabs Hayes, allowing Ciampa to hit a running knee. Ciampa wants to hit the Fairytale Ending through a table but Breakker spears him through it! Breakker lifts CIampa for the snap powerslam and the win!
The fans boo loudly as Team 2.0 come together to pose in the ring. A shift has occurred in NXT and Breakker is surely the new number one contender.
