NXT 2.0 debuted in September and brought about a significant number of changes to the product. However, not all of the changes were met with a positive reception. This is especially the case when it came to the overall presentation and feel of NXT.

NXT 2.0 came about after undergoing a variety of changes compared to the previous version of NXT. This is especially true regarding the kinds of talent the company hires now.

With a fresh look and coat of paint, came a new sense of direction which has seen a new set of WWE Superstars, especially the likes of Bron Breakker.

While speaking with Jim Varsallone, WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels talked about NXT 2.0’s current direction. The Heartbreak Kid stated that NXT 2.0 is the only brand where true stars are made.

“One of the really cool buzzwords…is ‘producing new, young, fresh superstars,’ and they are actually people who have been around for ten or 15 years and are just now making it onto television. We are the only brand in the entire world that is bringing real, true to life, young, fresh men and women that are going to be the stars of RAW and SmackDown in the next five to ten years. It’s just that simple. It starts all here.

Bron Breakker, Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, numerous other people where you are watching their first, second, third, tenth matches. Breakker, Tony D’Angelo, they are going to go out there at WarGames, one of our biggest shows of the year, and it’s their tenth to fifteenth matches. Nobody has been thrown into the deep end like these young men and women have. They’ve done a fantastic job and it’s awesome to see.”

WWE is also asking fans for feedback in order to improve NXT 2.0. Sean Waltman previously criticized NXT 2.0 for having 60-year-olds being in charge of the product. NXT 2.0 is focusing on an entirely different direction with talents. We will have to wait and see if the system has also changed or not as the company will certainly need to produce new stars.
