Brian Cage’s Current Status In AEW

Brian Cage is still signed to AEW despite not making an on-screen appearance for the company. The former FTW champion last appeared on the October 10th episode of AEW Rampage where he lost to Ricky Starks in a title match.

According to Fightful Select, Cage was present backstage at this week’s Dynamite episode but didn’t wrestle a match nor was involved in an on-screen appearance on the show.

We’ve received more inquiries than usual about the states of certain AEW talent who aren’t heavily featured on the show, one of them being Brian Cage following those close to him being outspoken about his use. We’re told that Brian Cage was backstage at AEW Dynamite this past week, despite not wrestling on the show.

However, he did wrestle several matches on the Jericho Cruise. For those who don’t know, the segments and matches filmed on the cruise are part of the AEW canon, according to AEW President Tony Khan.

Cage’s wife Melissa Santos has been vocal about her husband’s booking on AEW. She later revealed that Cage got massive heat from the roster following her rant on social media.
