Cody Rhodes and Andrade tore each other apart in an Atlanta Street Fight on Dynamite. That fiery finish was panned by a few fans, but it seemed to receive an overall positive reaction. Tony Khan is also very happy about how things turned out.
Recently on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan appeared to talk about upcoming dishes to treat the fans. There, Tony addressed the Cody Rhodes vs. Andrade El Idolo street fight and said it was a huge success.
The said event was from the December 1st 2021 edition of AEW Dynamite. He was delighted with how things went there. He hopes both the wrestlers are not severely injured because that was an insane match.
“It was amazing. It was such a great street fight and thankfully both guys will be okay and they both will be able to wrestle again because that was a crazy match. That’s the kind of stuff that can shorten careers, end careers. So, we’re very grateful for both Cody and Andrade El Idolo.”
An event like that has high risks of ending careers and Tony in thankful for the two courageous wrestlers to take it up. The street fight main event was a huge hit and Cody sent the fans home very happy. Tony expressed that the entire match was nerve racking and kept him at the edge of his seat throughout.
“Great street fight main event and absolutely Cody sent the fans home very happy from that match. I really, really enjoyed the street fight although it was pretty nerve-racking backstage. But thankfully everything came out okay and when you have a match like that, that’s all you can really hope for is that the wrestlers come out okay.”
After the exciting match, Tony felt relieved that there were no major casualties. He believes the main priority after a match like that is to check if the wrestlers are okay. Tony believes in putting his wrestlers’ health in front of everything in the business. If his gladiators are gravely injured, an event would not qualify as successful to him.
