MJF has been touted as one of the defining heels of the current generation of pro wrestlers and it is not difficult to understand why. MJF became a huge star in AEW in a short time and since then has consistently delivered in his feuds. It seems he compared himself to Andre The Giant as well.

The Salt of the Earth continues to hone his craft and perfect his character every week. He also does not wrestle as often as other wrestlers and it seems there is a reason for that.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, MJF made it clear that he does not need to wrestle every week because people are already impressed by him. MJF also added that he is an attraction like Andre The Giant.

”…I only wrestle when it behoves me to wrestle. I find that a lot of guys on the AEW roster are wrestling because they feel they need to impress our fanbase. I don’t have to impress anybody, everybody is already impressed by me. You’re impressed by me the second my music hits.

There’s a reason that when my music hits, I get one of the loudest reactions, positive or negative, in all of wrestling. I don’t have to wrestle every single week to make people feel that way to get people excited about me. I’m an attraction. I’m Andre The Giant.”

MJF has wrestled in just six singles matches this year, but they all have been significant ones. We will have to wait and see how his feud with CM Punk will be built in the coming weeks.

h/t to Fightful for the quotes.
