Big Swole announced that she was no longer with AEW earlier this week. She was never able to gain a lot of traction with the company, as she suffered from Chron’s Disease. Now, new details have emerged about the circumstances regarding her departure.

Fightful Select spoke to sources close to AEW about the situation. Rather than a termination or a premature end to her contract, Swole’s deal simply ran out. There was no major heat with the company.

AEW officials said the deal ended at the end of November. Swole had missed some work throughout the year. She hadn’t appeared in the ring since September.

Those that we spoke to within the company didn’t note any extensive heat or any reason that the situation would have ended on bad terms.

Swole was not at many recent AEW tapings either, perhaps due to her health condition. There were no reports of any problems between Swole and AEW management at the time of her contract’s expiration. There have been reports that Swole may be the first of many AEW wrestlers with expiring contracts that don’t return to the company.

Big Swole made her pro wrestling debut in 2015. She appeared as a jobber against Nia Jax in a 2016 episode of Raw. Swole competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament but lost in the first round to Xeuxis. She debuted for AEW on August 31, 2019. She officially signed with the company in December of that year.

Swole was ranked #39 in the PWI Women’s 100 in 2020. She is a former Shine Tag Team Champion. Time will tell if Big Swole will ever continue her career on the independents or continue to take time away from wrestling.
