Ringside Collectibles recently announced their latest series of WWE action figures. The WWE Elite 92 series features several wrestlers who are no longer employed by the promotion. The strangely timed release is available now for pre-order.
Included in the set are The Fiend, Bray Wyatt, Ric Flair, Adam Cole, and Scarlett Bordeaux. Wyatt was released in July of 2021. Flair was let go in August after the Dark Side of the Ring scandal. Cole’s contract expired and he’s been in AEW since the late summer. Scarlett was let go in the most recent round of WWE releases.
Scarlett took the ironic release in stride. She took to Twitter to laugh the whole situation off. She said three action figures in less than two years without any matches isn’t too shabby. Scarlett also announced her plans to launch an OnlyFans page soon.
Ringside Collectibles retweeted Scarlett, showing that they’re in on the joke as well. Aside from the released wrestlers, the Elite 92 series also includes Charlotte Flair and Rey Mysterio. Pre-orders are expected to ship in February.
This isn’t the only licensed WWE product that’s been affected by the company’s streak of mass releases. The video game WWE2K22 has been delayed several times due to the releases. The developers must then go back and remove the released wrestlers from the game.
It’s no surprise something like this happened. WWE has released over 80 wrestlers this year alone. They intend to continue the releases as a regular practice moving forward.
