WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has not returned to pro wrestling since his release, but that didn’t stop WWE from offering him a role. Angle also revealed the exorbitant amount of money he’d need to wrestle one more match. It seems Angle refused to wrestle another year for a good reason.
Kurt Angle had a tremendous career in WWE, spanning multiple World Title runs and incredible matches. This is because he faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer.
Kurt Angle’s in-ring career came to an end at WrestleMania 35, where he faced off against Baron Corbin. Angle would end up losing the match, much to the disdain of fans.
While speaking on Talk is Jericho, Kurt Angle revealed that he asked McMahon about squaring off against John Cena. McMahon told him Angle could face Cena the next year, but Angle didn’t want that as he had no intention of jobbing to other WWE Superstars.
“Well Vince [McMahon] said, ‘Well Kurt, you can do that next year.’ I was like, ‘Vince, I’m retiring this year.’ He said, ‘Well if you wait another year, I could do that for you.’ I said, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it this year’ because there was no way in hell I was gonna wrestle another year especially in WWE because all they were gonna do was job me out for the whole year so, I knew — I could see the writing on the wall and I didn’t know if I wanted to be a part of that.”
Vince McMahon also made Angle memorize a 3-page script in 10 minutes. Kurt Angle is enjoying his life in retirement after WrestleMania 35. We certainly wonder if he will make his return to pro wrestling one way or the other.
