Jim Ross has been in the professional wrestling industry since the 1970’s. He’s worn many (literal and proverbial) hats during his tenure. Ross has worked for just about every major promotion over the years.
With all that experience, JR has plenty of stories to tell. His first two books, “Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling” and “Under the Black Hat” included tales from his early days up to his time with WWE. During a recent “Ask JR Anything” session on AdFreeShows, Ross said he probably has another one in the pipeline.
“I’m going to write another book, it looks like. We’ve been offered a deal from a couple of publishers about my 50 years in wrestling. I got in in ‘74, so it’s 2024, a couple of years. If I’m above ground, that’s what’s going to happen. That should be fun. I never stopped loving what I did.”
A new book from Jim Ross to celebrate his 50th anniversary in pro wrestling certainly sounds enticing. The current AEW commentator is currently focused on his battle with skin cancer. He’s taking about a month off from his AEW duties as he undergoes radiation treatment.
So far, things are going well. JR is feeling upbeat and approaching the situation with confidence and grace. He’s determined to beat it. He’s been sharing updates with fans on his Twitter account.
Everybody at Ringside News continues to send our best wishes to Jim Ross. We’re looking forward to his speedy recovery. We also can’t wait for that book!
