WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is regarded as one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever competed inside the squared circle. However, he wasn’t always as successful as Austin made his WWE debut as the Ringmaster. It seems Kane has an interesting take on Steve Austin’s success in WWE.

Steve Austin ushered in the Attitude Era and became the face of the company. His feuds with the likes of The Rock, Triple H and more helped define a generation.

While speaking on The Doug Collins Podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Kane talked about Steve Austin’s rise to superstardom. He stated that it was an accident as no one ever thought it was going to happen.

I was there when Austin took off. That was kind of an accident, I don’t think that anyone ever expected that he would achieve what he did.

You look at Rock and you could tell early on that Vince [McMahon] thought that Dwayne had whatever it took to go all the way, right? When you think professional wrestler and you watch Steve, he’s an old-school professional wrestler, right?

That’s not necessarily a recipe for success with the way that Vince was taking things” Kane continued. “But Steve was able to take it and he was the right person at the right time and had the right character at the right time, and was able to tap into that, ‘everybody hates their boss and wants to give their boss a Stone Cold Stunner,’ and he did it.

After being directionless with the Ringmaster gimmick, Austin pitched his iconic gimmick and went on to singlehandedly usher in the Attitude Era in WWE. The rest is simply history.
