MJF has established himself as one of the best heels in the modern-day pro wrestling world. It took him barely any time to cement himself as one of the top stars in AEW. It seems WWE might not offer MJF a lot of money.
The Salt of the Earth is dedicated to his character as he never breaks kayfabe, inside or outside the squared circle. His dedication to his credit has won him over with fans who simply love to hate him. He is also brilliantly getting heat by teasing the idea of a WWE jump.
MJF recently revealed that he will go where the money is after his current AEW contract expires in 2024. MJF even stated that there will be a bidding war for him in 2024, adding that to his recent promos as well.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it is unlikely WWE will be paying a lot of money to sign MJF once his contract expires in 2024. The fact is that they might not see him as a proven guy who could warrant such a deal.
“I had a conversation with him about it and I don’t think he is going anywhere. I mean, if the deal, the financial deal, was really ridiculous by WWE, but who knows what they’re thinking in 2024. They usually don’t give ridiculous deals to someone who has never, in their mind, been a big deal. I could see there being a big bidding war. It’s just a question of how high they’re willing to go. I wouldn’t say he’s locked into AEW, but all things being equal, he won’t be leaving AEW.”
MJF’s stock continues to rise in AEW and by the time 2024 rolls around, it is likely a bidding war will start for him. It remains to be seen whether he will stick with AEW or not by then.
