Jeff Jarrett Says WWE Firing Superstars Is A Natural Progression Of The Industry

WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world. He is also a controversial figure in the pro wrestling world, mostly due to his troubling relationship with WWE. Now it seems Jeff Jarrett gave his take on WWE’s frequent releases.

Back in June, WWE held yet another round of cuts from the company and it included several big names. Among them include the likes of Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy. Unfortunately, WWE released several Superstars again a couple of weeks ago. This included the likes of Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, Keith Lee, Mia Yim and more.

That was not all as WWE has released even more talents this week. This included the likes of John Morrison, Drake Maverick, Tegan Nox and more. WWE’s questionable decisions continue to puzzle fans as well.

While speaking with Andrew Donnelly of Wrestle Buddy, Jeff Jarrett talked about WWE constantly releasing so many talents. Jarrett believes it is ultimately to keep WWE’s shareholders happy.

“Seven or eight or nine, ten years ago they formed the WWE Network and everything that was around it. There was a different strategy and now the Network sits under Peacock. I do believe it is very obvious that they are going to sell the Network off to different buyers around the world.

When it comes to the talent, the original plans and creating NXT all over the world – you do not really know exactly. There has been a lot of change. The head count and employees has been drastically reduced. You are well aware and other wrestling fans are of the talent cuts. “

“I believe It is really a natural progression of the industry in so many ways. The pandemic has changed the world in so many ways. While Vince is a great visionary, at the end of the day he figures out what is best for business. Now WWE is a publicly traded company and has been for years. He has to do what is best for shareholders. If he can get the job done with the reduction in head count and a reduction in talent head count, it is ultimately his duty to do that. To me, whether it is for sale or not, that is the strategy.”

Over 80 talents have been released by WWE so far. WWE is determined to release as many talents as they can at this point in time and it is highly unlikely they will stop anytime soon.
