Earlier this year, WWE was in Las Vegas for SummerSlam and while being there, the company conducted tryouts for talents. Many people made their way to Las Vegas in order to achieve their dreams of becoming WWE Superstars. WWE is moving away from recruiting indie wrestlers because they are looking for cross-over athletes they can train to be Superstars.

It was also previously revealed that they offered around 13 to 16 people contracts from the tryouts. After that WWE even released a video of Triple H offering contracts to some of the tryouts.

It was said that the company is focused on recruiting attractive people and emphasized color and ethnicity. Now it seems more details regarding the company’s current hiring process has been revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was said that as per the company’s current hiring process, people of color are given more of an emphasis.

“I know some people were trying to do the race thing, but they’re favoring that right now. I mean, even if the cuts tell you that they’re not, they really are in recruiting. They want People of Color, they want ethnics, I mean in their recruiting thing it’s preferable, they are absolutely doing that.”

It remains to be seen how they will fare with the company’s new vision, especially when it comes to NXT. With the company continuously releasing talents, it is not known whether the newer recruits will have what it takes.
