Shane Thorne (Slapjack) Released From His WWE Contract

Shane Thorne was brought up to the WWE main roster as a part of Retribution. He was given a strange mask and a stranger name. Now the former Slapjack is no longer with the company.

Sean Sapp confirmed that Shane Thorne is no longer with the company after today’s cuts. He was released before anyone got to really see his face on the main roster, quite literally.

Shane Thorne was given Crocodile Dundee gimmick after Retribution’s demise, but he never had a chance to debut it on television. Sadly, he will not be able to do that now after today’s news.

Hit Row, John Morrison, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick and more were also cut today. Budget cuts was the official reason given for today’s firings, but the trend is becoming all too common.

We’re hoping that Shane Thorne will be able to land on his feet. Hopefully, his next job will provide him with better opportunities than WWE ever did.
