Ric Flair made headlines after requesting his release from WWE earlier this year. It was previously said that Ric Flair wants one more in-ring run. He has teased that on numerous occasions as well.

Ric Flair uploaded a photo of himself showing off his gains at the gym and also declared in a post that he will never retire. TripleMania XXIX even featured a surprise appearance from Ric Flair, who accompanied Andrade El Idolo to the ring.

As fans are aware, Ric Flair’s health has not always been the best. He has been in and out of hospital for a long time and almost died on multiple occasions, with his 2019 heart surgery being the worst.

While speaking on his podcast Wooooo Nation Uncensored, the 72-year-old made it clear that rather die than ever spend another month in the ICU. Flair was referring to his long stay in the hospital back in 2019.

‘I’m in better shape now than I was when Sting and I wrestled the last match on Nitro. WWE won’t let me do anything, even though I’m released. I understand, they have so much liability and I told them I would sign anything, but nobody wants me to die on their watch. I’d rather die in the ring. If I have to go. I’d rather not jump off the 19th floor or spend another 31 days in the ICU.”

Ric Flair was the subject of controversy earlier this year after The Plane Ride From Hell episode of Vice’s Dark Side of the Ring series. It remains to be seen if Flair will wrestle another match or not in the future.
