WWE Hall Of Famer Edge remains one of the mainstays in the company and he has done it all as far as being a pro wrestler is concerned. Edge also beat Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam in a singles match. It seems Jim Ross believes Edge made the right call staying with WWE.
Edge made his return to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble, after a 9-year absence due to a career-ending neck injury. Fans were simply delighted to see the Rated R Superstar return after almost a decade.
Since then Edge remain a mainstay of WWE television for the most part. His battles with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton received a lot of praise as well.
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross talked about the rumors which suggested Edge might have made his way to AEW instead of returning to WWE. In hindsight, Jim Ross stated that Edge made the right decision by staying in WWE and not going to AEW.
“He has got a brand established in WWE, which is simply a home for him. He is comfortable there. He has a really open, established communication with Vince, which really matters. Would I have loved to have had him in AEW? Hell yeah! Are you kidding? Absolutely. But I just think that WWE for him, after all these years, was home.”
He is a lifer in WWE. Would I like to see Adam Copeland have a match in AEW someday? Most definitely, but will it happen? Unlikely. Highly unlikely, perhaps. But that would have been kind of cool if he had come and worked for us. Regardless, I understand why he did, and I think he made the right decision.”
Edge has not been seen since his terrific Hell In A Cell match against Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel last month. We will have to wait and see when he will return to WWE television and what the company has planned for him.
