Jay Lethal left wrestling fans quite surprised last weekend when he made his debut on AEW Full Gear. Booker T, who appeared on the “Hall of Fame” podcast recently, shared his views on Jay signing with AEW.
Prior to this, Lethal was with ROH, which recently went on hiatus. It seems like Jay wasted no time making the jump. Booker T, however, had only good things to say about Jay’s tenacity, calling him a “soldier.”
I’ve gotten a chance to work with Jay Lethal in TNA and he’s always been a guy that, I must say, loves this business more than anybody I’ve ever seen. Jay Lethal loves this business. He loved working for that company but when the doors closed, they sent him a letter saying his contract is void. It’s like any athlete man, you’ve got to look for work and you’ve got to do it quick because those notes that come in the mailbox they’re called bills.
Booker T also said that he always thought “Jay Lethal should be somewhere working primetime.” The former WCW Champion also sounded optimistic about Jay’s future prospects, saying that “hopefully he gets to show the world how good he really is.”
Booker T then went on to claim that there “ain’t nobody better than Jay Lethal,” which he went on to clarify, stating “this is a guy that knows exactly what that squared circle means.”
