Mia Yim was released by WWE on November 4, 2021 after being drafted to Raw. She never did appear on the show after the draft, though. Now, she’s getting ready to take the next step in her long and successful career.
Mia shared a fan’s post of a GIF of her package piledriver finisher and said she can’t wait to bring it back. She used the hashtag #ProtectYaNeck. Former Impact Wrestling opponent Madison Rayne took to Twitter to take umbrage with Yim’s choice of sample material.
“C’mon!!! There’s no other gif of this move?! Always me and my neck?!”
Chelsea Green also reacted to Yim’s tweet. She posted a skull and crossbones emoji and a simple, “yes!” Mia responded to Madison’s complaint by saying she only does it because she loves her. Just a bunch of wrestlers having fun on Twitter.
After her release, Mia Yim immediately set her sights on her future. Rather than dwelling in her past with WWE, she started counting down the days until her 90 day non-compete agreement was up. Yim was part of the most recent mass release of superstars, so she’s got a while to go.
Mia Yim may have one of the most storied careers of any American women’s wrestler. She honed her skills on the independent circuit beginning in 2009. She also had stops in Combat Zone Wrestling, Shine, Shimmer, TNA/Impact Wrestling, and WWE. She’s a former TNA Knockouts champion, but never captured gold while working for WWE.
