Bryan Danielson’s accolades as a professional wrestler certainly need no introductions as they proved to be one of the best in the business. He spent several years working in WWE as one of their top stars and towards the end of his run, Bryan Danielson was even part of WWE Creative. It seems Bryan Danielson is loving the extra freedom he gets in AEW.
Bryan Danielson brought back his ‘American Dragon’ persona while competing in AEW. It has featured him delivering more stiff shots and having a more explosive and violent move set compared to his WWE days.
One of the biggest differences between AEW and WWE is that AEW gives their stars more freedom to express themselves and hone their characters the way they want to.
While speaking at the AEW Full Gear media scrum, Danielson was asked if he has had any difficulty adjusting to the freedom in AEW. Danielson stated that there is an extra amount of joy in the freedom he gets in AEW.
“So, I don’t know. You say having trouble adjusting, I don’t feel — I feel such a sense of joy when I’m wrestling but when I say that, I’ve kind of felt that since I came back from retirement. So even within the limitations, and there’s always limitations when it comes to wrestling on TV. You have certain times, all that kind of stuff. You’re never going to be able to go out and do whatever you want. It just doesn’t work like that, right? But I feel like there is a certain amount of joy in just being able to do this thing that I love and there’s an extra amount of joy given the freedom we have here in AEW to do kind of what I want within what are always going to be limitations.”
Bryan Danielson defeated Miro to become the #1 contender for the AEW World Championship. It remains to be seen when he will challenge Adam Page for the title as that is certainly a dream match for many.
