Shotzi Blackheart got to embrace her inner metalhead over the weekend. The WWE superstar attended the Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Last night, she shared some pictures and videos of her experience on Instagram.
Shotzi can be seen crowd surfing as Anthrax fires the crowd up. Next, she falls off a mechanical shark, taking a safe flat back bump onto the waiting inflated floor below. Next, she headbangs to the iconic Metallica hit, “Enter Sandman.”
The three-day festival took place at the Daytona Beach International Speedway. Along with Metallica and Anthrax, a who’s who of metal and punk rock peppered the lineup. Other acts included Disturbed, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, and more. It sounds like the event was right up Shotzi’s alley.
Shotzi was recently drafted to WWE SmackDown, where she turned heel and challenged Charlotte Flair. She also beat down Sasha Banks on the same episode. Her persona then underwent some tweaks to make it work better as a villain.
Shotzi is an experienced wrestler, making her debut in 2014 for the Hoodslam promotion. She spent time in Shimmer before appearing on Impact, and ultimately signing with WWE at an Evolve show in 2019. Since then, she’s won the NXT Women’s Tag Team championship with the recently departed Ember Moon. Main roster gold has proven more elusive.
While she’s not exactly in the main event scene, Shotzi remains a popular star among WWE fans. It was good to see her take some time for herself and let loose. It looks like she had a blast rocking out at the festival.
