CM Punk’s debut two months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Dance truly changed the pro wrestling world for many fans. Since his debut Punk has been a regular feature on AEW television. It seems CM Punk is eyeing for a title shot, but he might give or take it.
Punk squared off against Eddie Kingston in a very physical and personal match, which had only a couple of weeks of buildup. Despite that, the match more than surpassed expectations.
The Second City Saint also made a title belt gesture which made fans wonder whether he was going after a major title or not. While speaking during the post-AEW Full Gear media scrum, CM Punk addressed the gesture.
“It’s strap season, baby. Why not?”
CM Punk shrugged his shoulders and carried on with the media scrum. It seems that if a title belt comes his way, Punk is game to take that opportunity. If not, he will continue doing his thing. After all, Punk’s current undefeated record in AEW could drive him up the rankings to an eventual title match situation anyway.
Punk is more than happy to wait things out and see how the landscape of AEW changes before deciding to go after a title himself. It remains to be seen if Punk will eventually be a champion in the company at this point, but many fans see it as inevitable.
