Joey Janela is AEW’s resident Bad Boy and he takes that role very seriously. Since turning heel, Janela has shown a more relaxed and natural side of his character. It seems he finally revealed when his AEW contract will expire.
Joey Janella was one of the first to sign with AEW back in 2019 and has been involved in some of the major months during the early stages of the company. However, he has not been featured on AEW television for quite some time now.
While speaking on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Joey Janela talked about his contract status with AEW. Janela revealed that he signed a three-year-long contract with AEW.
“I’m under a three-year deal. My contract’s up in May, you know, I really have to step it up. I felt like I have in the last couple of months. You know, just having killer matches on Dark. Yeah. The arena’s coming back, it really helped me. I feel like we got something right now with AEW, I’m crossing my fingers.
Joey Janela has been keeping himself busy competing on AEW Dark matches and also squared off against Minoru Suzuki at GCW Aftermatch earlier this month. It remains to be seen if Janela will ever make his return to AEW Dynamite or not.
