Tony Khan cut off a female reporter who asked a question about a potential AEW all-women’s event during the conference call for the Full Gear pay-per-view. Podcaster Ella Jay was interrupted and left unable to finish her question by Khan.

Khan then spoke in a condescending tone about the subject. He noted that he paid for the AEW talent that appeared and thought he deserved credit from the NWA. Fans had an understandably negative reaction. Now, Ella says the billionaire has apologized.

Jay later tweeted that the two had spoken privately and that Khan apologized for his behavior. She pointed out the importance of the discussion she was trying to have. Khan obviously found out very quickly that what he said wasn’t received well by fans.

Ella then took to Twitter to announce the apology and thank readers and fans for participating in the discussion. It sounds like Tony Khan’s out of touch remarks were a trademark “more money than brains” moment. Just because he paid for the event doesn’t mean that a lot of work didn’t go in to putting it together.

“Tony Khan & I have resolved today’s media call incident privately, and he apologized. Thank you to all who brought awareness to today’s discussion.”

Twitter blew up when fans heard the news of Khan’s rude action. It started a larger discussion about the role of women in wrestling. Ella Jay ultimately was thankful for the opportunity to talk about what is an important issue. Now, it sounds like the two have patched things up.

What do you think of Tony Khan’s reaction to Ella Jay’s question? Let us know in the comments!
