Earlier this year, rumors were floating around that AEW’s Executive Vice Presidents, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Cody Rhodes, don’t talk to each other and actually have heat between them. The Young Bucks would respond to the rumors, making fun of them. It seems Tony Khan is glad he’s taken up more responsibilities.
AEW Executive Vice Presidents barely have any creative input as Tony Khan took away their power back in September. On top of that, it was said that Cody Rhodes’ relationship with the other is virtually non-existent.
While speaking with Wade Keller of PW Torch, AEW President Tony Khan talked about writing shows on his own after counterproductive meetings. Khan said that him. He said that the EVPs are still involved but him working on his own has worked out well.
They are all still very involved in stories, and I talk to all four of them a ton about not just their programs, but what I am doing with other people,” Khan said. “But I am just trying to be organized in a different way, and I talk to them all and have more compartmentalized conversations. It has helped me be better organized, especially to get through the pandemic when there were no in-person meetings. It worked out even better because I had already been going in that direction.”
Jim Cornette even previously said that Tony Khan is micromanaging more than even Vince McMahon. It remains to be seen how the company will fare now that Tony Khan truly has all the creative control in the company.
