Being the Elite typically doesn’t offer much insight into backstage AEW news. The show is a side project, a self-indulgent comedy in which its stars get to goof around and let their hair down. This week’s episode, though, revealed an interesting tidbit about one AEW star’s injury status.
On the show, Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks shared an update on his brother Nick’s injured heel. Nick is cleared for the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view despite being on crutches with the painful injury. The Young Bucks are set to team with SuperKliq partner Adam Cole to take on Jurassic Express and Christian Cage on the show.
The rest of the show is filled with the usual cast of zany AEW characters and their antics during their downtime. Sammy Guevara defeated Colt Cabana in a game of table football to advance in the BTE Tournament. 2point0 had a segment with Aubrey Edwards where they plugged the AEW Elite General Manager mobile game. Nothing particularly groundbreaking took place. There was also a segment where Nick Jackson messed with telemarketers on his phone.
The news about Nick’s heel injury came as a surprise to some. Jackson said the injury occurred when Luchasaurus threw him off the stage. The ankle looked visibly swollen as he iced it in on a car seat on the way to the St. Louis Rampage taping during the show.
Jackson received X-rays to confirm that there was no break. He was visibly limping in a BTE scene where he rode in a horse-drawn carriage with Brandon Cutler. Fortunately, he will be able to compete at Full Gear.
The pay-per-view takes place on Saturday, November 13. In addition to the six-man tag with the Super Kliq, the card features three title matches, the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament, and a couple of good, old-fashioned grudge matches. The full card is listed below.
