Finn Balor will not be at tonight’s WWE Raw. He was recently announced as a team member for the red brand for the Survivor Series on November 21. The announcement came from a random tweet by WWE, rather than on television. Many fans found the move peculiar.
As reported by Mike Johnson of PW Insider, Balor stayed in the UK for the remainder of WWE’s tour there. He will perform tonight in Leeds, tomorrow in Nottingham, and finish up the road trip on Wednesday in Manchester. That will leave two episodes of Raw with Balor to build him up for the pay-per-view.
Much like the WWE draft, some wrestlers found out that they were participating in the match via social media. Finn has a history in the event, although he might not enjoy recollecting it. A famous botch saw the former Universal champion slip and fall while performing a stomp at the event. He laughed it off via Twitter.
Balor was a natural to stay on tour in the UK. He hails from Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. He’s a fan favorite in the British Isles. It seems he’s a no-brainer for any WWE appearances in Ireland and England.
Finn Balor recently spoke about the fact that he doesn’t need WWE. He will still have to represent their flagship cable show at Survivor Series. He nearly became the Universal champion again at Extreme Rules, although a bizarre ending caused him to drop the bout to Roman Reigns.
The former Prince Devitt rose to superstardom in New Japan Pro Wrestling as the leader of the Bullet Club. In 2014, he signed with WWE. He has held the WWE Universal championship and is a two-time Intercontinental and NXT champion for the company.
