AEW has announced a scheduling change that will affect fans who planned to attend Dynamite on January 12, 2022, at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. The promotion released a statement on Twitter noting that the show has been moved to April 13, 2022.
The tweet states that fans will be able to use their tickets from the original January date. They also gave the option for ticketholders to receive a refund at the point of purchase. The date the company gives is a scheduling conflict.
“Due to a scheduling conflict, the AEW DYNAMITE show on January 12, 2022, at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, La., has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
Fans who have already purchased tickets to the New Orleans show will have their original tickets valid for admission to the event on April 13, 2022, or can receive a refund via the point of purchase. AEW thanks fans for their on-going patience. We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans.”
This is the not the first time the New Orleans date has been postponed. AEW also completely scrapped a Dynamite event in Albuquerque, NM at the Santa Ana Star Center. There is no word on the specific scheduling conflict that caused the delay.
The primary tenants of the UNO Lakefront Arena, the University of New Orleans men’s and women’s basketball teams, don’t seem to have anything scheduled that would cause an issue. The women’s team plays at home on January 15 against Nicholls State. It is conceivable that there could be issues caused by the production of the AEW show that might be problematic. Everything is just speculation until we hear from the arena or Tony Khan himself.
