Earlier this year, rumors were floating around that AEW’s Executive Vice Presidents, namely The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Cody Rhodes don’t talk to each other and actually have heat between them. The Young Bucks would respond to the rumors, making fun of them. It seems Tony Khan revealed interesting details regarding AEW’s booking decisions.
As reported earlier, all the Executive Vice Presidents barely have any creative input as Tony Khan took away their power back in September. On top of that, it was said that Cody Rhodes’ relationship with the other is virtually non-existent.
While speaking with Wade Keller of PW Torch, AEW President Tony Khan talked about how Rhodes, Omega and The Bucks are less involved than they used to be. Khan also added that while the EVPs all contribute their ideas even now, they no longer book the show as a committee.
“They are still very involved in a lot of aspects of the business and a lot of those things have been enhanced.
I was like the head of a committee and I think there are a lot of drawbacks of trying to book a wrestling show with a committee. Around the start of 2020, the end of 2019, moved more to me writing the show and I think it helped and the show has been better for it. They are still contributing all their ideas, that has never changed.”
Jim Cornette even previously said that Tony Khan is micromanaging more than even Vince McMahon. It remains to be seen how the company will fare now that Tony Khan truly has all the creative control in the company.
