CM Punk’s debut two months ago at AEW Rampage: The First Dance truly changed the pro wrestling world for many fans. Since his debut Punk has been a regular feature on AEW television. It seems TNT executives have big plans for CM Punk.
CM Punk has been competing in several matches on AEW Rampage since his debut and most of them have been well received by fans and critics alike. He has also competed on AEW Dynamite and his storylines are always given a lot of focus.
Jim Cornette also added that AEW has devalued CM Punk wrestling in AEW. That is not all as even Eric Bischoff previously stated that AEW has brought down CM Punk’s image.
While speaking with Wade Keller of PWTorch, AEW President Tony Khan talked about CM Punk’s impact on AEW as a whole. Khan stated that TNT executives want to build around CM Punk as well.
”I was on with TNT yesterday, they’re so excited about the direction we’re going and the future of the business and there’s so many possibilities they see for the AEW franchise and he’s one of the big stars they want to build around.
The TNT executives also had a great call with Punk and talked to him and they want him to know he’s a really valued member of the TNT Warner Media family, the TBS family.”
Punk is slated to face off against Eddie Kingston at AEW Full Gear on November 13th. It remains to be seen if Punk will be able to win the match or not.
