WWE made a major flub in their internal emails announcing the release of several talents yesterday. Fightful Select reported earlier on the nature of the memos that went out from John Laurinaitis. Now, more details have revealed two embarrassing mistakes made by the company.
In the wake of the scandal caused by Samuray Del Sol misspelling the name of Jon Huber (Brody Lee) in a tweet, the WWE front office actually misspelled a name that they created. In the emails, they spelled Oney Lorcan as “Oney Lorkan.”
Additionally, WWE made another error in the email. The roster cuts were sent out in two separate lists. One was for the main roster, the other NXT. Somewhere along the line, some wires got crossed.
Former Hit Row member B-Fab was listed as an NXT talent. She was recently called up to SmackDown with the rest of the group. Somebody in WWE needs to shake the cobwebs out of their head.
The recent releases included over a dozen WWE wrestlers. There were also cuts to the front office. Longtime WWE executive Stan Stanski was also let go as a part of the supposed cost-saving measures.
At a time when nobody in WWE feels secure in their position, such a mindless error will only further convince angsty superstars that the company doesn’t care about them. They should take the time to go over these simple details as the minimum courtesy being given to those who just lost their jobs.
