WWE commentator Michael Cole appeared on the “Pat McAfee Show,” where in a conversation with hosts Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk, he discussed the different aspects of his job.
Hawk praised both Cole and McAfee for their work on SmackDown, and acknowledged how difficult commentary seemed. McAfee, in turn, gave credit to Cole, claiming he did most of the work.
Cole, too, humbly accepted the compliment, and then proceeded to give credit to the Superstars who actually perform in the ring.
My job is to tell coherent stories that help get the Superstars over, and that’s the bottom line. The Superstars are the ones that are up there taking bumps every week.
McAfee also shared his thoughts on Happy Corbin, saying he “stinks.” To this, Cole responded by saying that it’s similar comments that make commentary fun.
You’ll make that line and then I’ll have to come back and I’ll try to protect him the best way that I know how. Not that you’re doing anything to damage him, but it’s about making sure that he’s strong.
It is undeniable that McAfee and Cole greatly add to the entertainment factor with their colorful commentary. It certainly seems like Cole has figured out what works best. Check out the episode below.
