WWE made a lot of cuts today, the same day where they announced huge profits across the board. This was also a sad day for the locker room as they lost several members of the roster.
Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado were both released by WWE today. This was confirmed by both Sean Sapp and PW Insider. That means the entire Lucha House Party is no longer with WWE.
Metalik requested his WWE release a few weeks ago, but it wasn’t reported that Lince Dorado had the same request. Now they are both free to seek out their fortunes elsewhere. 90-day non-compete clauses are likely associated with their releases as well.
Ironically, their releases happened on the same week that Kalisto made his AEW Dynamite debut. Kalisto is a former member of the Lucha House party and he even got the Dynamite crowd to break out into “LUCHA” chants during his AAA Tag Team Title match against FTR.
We will have to see what is next for everyone involved with today’s releases. Obviously, this is bad news, but there could be a silver lining.
