AEW Dynamite made its debut in October 2019 and since then has worked hard to provide an alternate product to what fans see in WWE. For the most part, they have succeeded, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. It seems WarnerMedia’s general manager had a lot of praise for AEW.

AEW has all the momentum in the world right now thanks to the debuts of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole to their roster. This has ensured that the roster is one of the most stacked in all of pro wrestling. Khan also previously said that AEW has the best roster in pro wrestling.

There is certainly no denying AEW’s massive success in the past few months, as the company has grown leaps and bounds over the past two years.

While speaking with Nellie Andreeva of Deadline, WarnerMedia’s General Manager Brett Weitz talked about Warner’s various projects and plans. While doing so, he gave huge props to AEW and stated that the company is an overperformer.

“We have AEW, which continues to be such an overperformer; this challenger brand of a wrestling asset has now become one of the biggest shows in cable, which is incredible for us. We obviously started a completely new night and new show on Friday nights with AEW Rampage.

And we have Rhodes to the Top, which is a different asset, but when you think of it in totality, TNT really has something for everyone, and that’s the thing that we wanted to be able to deliver for those people that still come to us each and every day. If someone comes to us to watch Shawshank Redemption, they stay for Snowpiercer, Animal Kingdom, our sports. They come to us for some of the greatest content, first-in-class content on basic cable.”

AEW President Tony Khan also recently stated that an AEW streaming service is likely to happen eventually. It remains to be seen how AEW will implement its streaming services. With streaming being the norm in many places, the company certainly has a lot to live up to.
