Nia Jax Released From WWE Contract

WWE is making some big cuts to their roster and we already saw some known names from NXT get the chop. Now Nia Jax is among those cuts.

Nia Jax, The Rock’s cousin, was released from her contract. This was confirmed by both PW Insider and Sean Sapp. Naturally, this is one of the more shocking names on the cut list, because she has been so important to WWE’s women’s division for such a long time.

Jax is also a product of the WWE Performance Center, having virtually no wrestling training prior to entering their doors. She is a former women’s champion and also had marquee WrestleMania spots. Now her time with WWE is over for now.

Nia Jax was written off television when Shayna Baszler did an injury angle. Many thought that Jax would be back after another hiatus. She was known to take breaks from the ring to rest and center herself. Now we know she is not returning this time.

We will have to see what happens with Nia Jax next. She could be beneficial for another pro wrestling company, but her asking price might also be very high considering the years she spent on television.
