It has been more than two months since CM Punk’s debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance. While many feel the novelty value hasn’t worn off, others feel otherwise. It seems WCW legend Disco Inferno is one of them.

CM Punk has been competing in several matches on AEW Rampage since his debut and most of them have been well received by fans and critics alike. Jim Cornette previously criticized AEW for having Punk wrestle on Rampage so much.

Jim Cornette also added that AEW has devalued CM Punk wrestling in AEW. That is not all as even Eric Bischoff previously stated that AEW has brought down CM Punk’s image.

While speaking on the Keepin It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno talked about CM Punk’s current run in AEW. Inferno stated that CM Punk’s stock is dropping in AEW and that the company has botched Punk’s run as well.

”I am just saying Kenny Omega should beat Adam Page, then call out CM Punk. Punk’s stock is dropping and you wouldn’t want to work with him when he’s a penny stock. You wanna work with him when his stocks are worth something. I would absolutely have Punk versus Kenny Omega as the feud that starts immediately the night of going forward after he beats Adam Page if you want to heat up Punk. And if Punk just keeps on facing the rest of these guys, the numbers do not lie. Everybody is noticing this, the numbers stink, and then you guys are talking about the demos everything.

The ratings have gone, you are botching Punk. That is an absolute story that the wrestling media should be talking about, collectively right now, but they’re not. And I am like it is because they cover for AEW and their booking sometimes, we agree this has been lame. So, Eric is absolutely right

AEW was also recently criticized for having no property story for CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston’s feud ahead of AEW Full Gear on November 13th. We will have to wait and see if the company will eventually use CM Punk in a better way or not.
