The wrestling world outside the big two of All Elite Wrestling and WWE has been in turmoil lately. After Ring of Honor released their entire roster, independent wrestlers have been scrambling to find a new permanent home. Now, there are signs that another major national promotion could be making changes soon.
PW Insider has reported that several names were removed from the Impact Wrestling website roster page yesterday. There were some former WWE talents as well as Impact mainstays on the list.
“The following names were removed from the Impact Wrestling website roster page today:
*No Way.
*Taylor Wilde.
*TJP.
*Tommy Dreamer.
*Petey Williams.”
Petey Williams was an obvious move. He has recently begun a tryout as a producer for WWE. Tommy Dreamer is also a no-brainer. The ECW standout stirred up controversy with some victim shaming remarks on a recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring that discussed the infamous “Plane Ride From Hell.”
Johnson later added an addendum to the report. Sources at Impact Wrestling said there have been no talent releases. The wrestlers’ removal from the roster doesn’t necessarily reflect their status with the company. Williams and Dreamer may be the exceptions in this case.
No Way enjoyed a run in WWE as No Way Jose. TJP won the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic and was the first WWE Cruiserweight champion. Taylor Wilde spent a while with Impact between 2008 and 2010. She returned to the company in 2021 after a nine-year retirement.
