Gable Steveson’s terrific performance at the Tokyo Olympics helped make him a well-known name in the world of sports. WWE went the extra mile in getting Steveson to sign a contract as even Vince McMahon personally met up with Steveson to sign him. It seems he finds being compared to major WWE Superstars a crazy thing.

WWE finally managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract last month and put all speculation to rest as far as where the 21-year-old will go next. It was also reported that Gable Steveson signed a unique contract with WWE, which is exclusive in nature.

Gable Steveson also previously admitted that Brock Lesnar was a huge influence in him signing with WWE as Lesnar’s career path was something Steveson found helpful. Lesnar also gave him once-in-a-lifetime advice during his freshman year in college.

While speaking on After The Bell, Gable Steveson talked about being compared to Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. Steveson stated that it was crazy being compared to the two legends. However, Steveson made it clear that he will forge his own path in WWE.

“People compare me to Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, it’s actually really cool. Kurt Angle is a legend. They’re both Hall of Famers at the end of the day. To be compared to those guys is something crazy. It’s good and bad. Kurt won a gold medal and I won a gold medal. The difference is, he had a broken neck and I won it in the last one second. My gold medal doesn’t exist because if I don’t have a broken neck, it’s gone.

At the end of the day, my goal is to be the best version of Gable, not Kurt Angle, not Brock Lesnar. Even with their support and their look, I want to be the person I want to be.”

Gable Steveson was drafted to Monday Night RAW during this year’s edition of the WWE Draft. The company is also setting up a remote training facility for Gable. Even Kurt Angle said he would love to be Gable Steveson’s manager. It remains to be seen he will fare in the company once he makes his debut there.
