Bray Wyatt’s departure from WWE has led to widespread speculation about the real reasons he was released by the company. Ringside News recently filed an exclusive report that WWE sources said Wyatt deserved to be fired. Now, new information has emerged that gives more context to the situation.
According to Fightful Select, creative differences between Wyatt and the WWE team led to tensions. When Bray didn’t like the direction the company wanted to go with his character, he was sure to tell them about it. Ultimately, sources within the company said it was Vince McMahon’s decision in the end.
Creative was also told about some major frustration around the “burned Fiend” angle, specifically the size, weight and movement of the suit. Though Wyatt hasn’t confirmed this himself, the creative team was told that he believed it was too heavy, was going to look bad and it would be difficult to move inside it, so it was scrapped.
The creative team also learned about frustration with the proposed “burned” Fiend outfit. Wyatt apparently told the creative team that the suit was too cumbersome and that he wouldn’t be able to move well in it. The idea was then thrown out.
The source said that talent was told that Wyatt’s release was a “budget cut.” WWE employees didn’t buy it. They believed there was more to the release, since Wyatt was a big money maker for the company and sold a lot of merchandise.
Bray Wyatt was released in July. His 90-day no compete claus recently ran out. He’s rebranded himself as Windham. Now, fans are anxiously awaiting the next move for the Eater of Worlds. Windham has promised that he will soon reveal the truth to his fans.
