Jon Moxley debuted at AEW Double Or Nothing 2019 and became one of the mainstays of the company since then. He is also confident when it comes to AEW getting more fans thanks to its diverse product. It seems Moxley didn’t like being handed a script in WWE.
Jon Moxley worked as Dean Ambrose in WWE for 7 years before leaving the company in 2019. Having worked in WWE for so long, he is well aware of how the company functions. However, that doesn’t mean Jon Moxley is a fan of everything that goes on in the company.
Unlike in previous years, WWE Superstars are always handed a script that they have to remember and speak as part of their promos. A large section of the WWE Universe are not fans of scripted promos as they feel it highly restricts the characters of WWE Superstars.
While speaking with Wrestling Observer Radio, Jon Moxley talked about WWE’s scripted environment. Moxley revealed that he would have acted very poorly to being handed a script in the company.
“At this time I didn’t know there were scripts. I would have not reacted very good. I would have reacted poorly to say the least to being handed a script, and then I would have been deemed hard to work with and a bad attitude and yada yada. It would have all just probably gone to s**t.”
Jon Moxley also previously blasted WWE promos for having too many unnecessary words. Jon Moxley is grateful for his time in WWE but it is unlikely he will ever go back to the promotion as Moxley is having the time of his life in AEW right now.
