Jim Ross Offers Apology For Comments During Dark Side Of The Ring

WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator Jim Ross has apologized for his comments that were recently aired on an episode of the Dark Side of the Ring documentary series.

The legendary commentator was featured in “The Plane Ride From Hell” episode of Season 3 of the critically-acclaimed docu series. The eighth episode was released on September 16, 2021.

In the said episode, JR, who was WWE’s Head of Talent Relations in 2002, recalled how the infamous flight incident led to the firing of wrestlers such as Scott Hall and “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig who were employed by the company at the time.

However, in the latest episode of his “Grilling JR” podcast, the 69-year-old offered an apology for the comments he made during the Dark Side of the Ring episode that may have offended people. He also praised the show’s creators but admitted he didn’t like his portrayal on the show.

“I like those guys – they’re two creators, hard-working, young guys – but I didn’t like the show. I thought it was way too negative and it impacted too many people negatively, I thought. I’ve offended a lot of people by being on that show, which I apologize for.”

The Plane Ride From Hell also featured comments from Heidi Doyle, the flight attendant who claimed that Ric Flair sexually assaulted on the flight, and Tommy Dreamer, who was indefinitely suspended by Impact Wrestling as a result of his controversial comments on the show.
